The rebellion of craft

Women's work with textiles has been dismissed as “pastime” or “hobby,” yet the very stitches we create are the backbone of an industry. Sewn, knit, crocheted, woven, embroidered, and other garments are constantly mass-produced and discarded without thought. We believe every piece of clothing should serve a purpose. The intent of the garment, as well as the process of constructing it, holds the story of the maker, which will give power to the wearer. The mission of Jane is to highlight the unseen hours behind fiber arts by creating beautiful, quality clothing using processes that respect our history. Created for women in search of thoughtfully made, long-lasting garments with a story. By Chloe Jane Botfeld.
